Thou Art Loosed

The Infirmed Woman

image

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Luke 4:18)
You may have thought that you would never rejoice again. God declares that you can have freedom in Him-now! The joy that He brings can be restored to your soul. He identifies with your pain and suffering. He knows what it is like to suffer abuse at the hands of others. Yet He proclaims joy and strength. He will give you the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness (Isa. 61:3).

Once you have called out to Him, you can lift up your hands in praise. No matter what you have suffered, you can hold up your head. Regardless of who has hurt you, hold up your head! Forget how many times you've been married. Put aside those who mistreated you. You may have been a lesbian. You may have been a crack addict. It doesn't matter who you were. You may even have been molested. You can't change where you have been, but you can change where you are going."

"Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Psalm 24: 9-10"

Problems can become like a security blanket, because we've become accustomed to wrapping it around us for such a long time. But we need a new garment, one that is bright and full of life.

"The infirmed woman whom Jesus healed was made completely well by His touch. He said, "Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity." The moment He said that, it required something of her that she hadn't had to deal with before. For 18 years she could excuse herself because she was handicapped. The moment He told her the problem was gone, she had no excuse."

"Christ unleashed power in the infirm woman that day. He healed her body and gave her the strength of character to keep a proper attitude. The woman who is broken and wounded today will find power unleashed within her too when she responds to the call and brings her wounds to the Great Physician."

He is giving us our chance of "Life" and we can decide to use this chance to help others through their nightmares. And we can do it, because most of us have already been through it and continue to fight it everyday to not go through it again. By helping others, we help ourselves. It will be a battle, but one we can win if we stay focused on the outcome and that of continuing to share our life with those around us who love us dearly! We are here to celebrate Life!

Taking Out the Trash

Learning how to heal oneself is something like taking out trash that has been accumulating over the years. We have to start in the basement, work our way up to the attic, taking one floor at a time and entering each room til it is cleaned of all unnecessary rubbish. Once all the trash has been removed we have to put the lid on it and let the garbage man carry it away. The thing of it is, we DO have to start at the bottom and go in each and every room to find that old stale, smelly stuff and sweep it up. That's the hard part, sweeping it up and getting rid of it because sometimes we like to hold on to some things, but they are the very reason why we can't forget them.We keep holding on even when it doesn't serve a purpose anymore. Kind of like holding on to an old favorite sweater or a pair of shoes that's seen better days. We know the sweater doesn't fit and the shoes aren't of any use, but we hang on to it anyway. Well, My Sisters in Spirit, the past doesn't fit anymore either! It only serves as a bad and often times painful memory; one we all need to work on getting rid of and throwing it in the garbage. We need to start hauling out the trash because if we don't, soon no one will be able to find us in all the debris!
Don't know if that makes any sense, but hopefully you get the idea.

Pitch IT!

image

We've traveled down a long road in order to heal, and sometimes it was winding and went in different directions. We prayed on it, hoping to reach the 'road' that would keep us forever in the 'healed valley.' You may ask, 'where do we begin?' Tough question. Just grab that bag and "Pitch IT!" Don't look inside to find something; pitch it! It might be okay to reflect on what was inside, but only as a means to remember how far we've come and perhaps figure out what we can do to keep us in the 'positive realm' and to help 'heal.' Don't look too long! PITCH IT! It only keeps the wounds open! If we haven't looked in that bag/box for years, we know whatever was inside isn't worth it. PITCH IT! It's like what's stored in the basement or attic. We haven't gone there to see what was inside and/or get rid of it. We haven't used anything in there for decades, yet we still kept them. Why? I've found boxes in MY basement with things that hadn't been used in eight years. My thinking? If I haven't bothered using the contents, I must not have needed it, or maybe it had been replaced. I did peek inside though, but was determined to throw them away. They weren't needed. When the refuge truck came and took them away, there was a feeling of relief; of progression; of letting something that was smelly, gotten rid of. Did I regret my action? Yes and No. Yes, because I felt I should have kept some for memories; and No, because I realized I didn't need them for those memories. I needed better memories, to accumulate positive memories. I needed to move beyond what was inside those boxes. I needed to heal, and surround myself with 'newness,' a new 'purpose.' To 'begin' a new life, I needed to 'embrace' myself with beauty and not the ugliness that had touched my life. I PITCHED them all! What a relief; it felt so good. Granted, there were moments when those boxes would come back to mind, but because they were pitched, I also knew that my spirit didn't have to remain inside those boxes along with its contents. Make further sense? Hope so! Some memories are best forgotten!

"A Sparrow's Life"

Photobucket

In the dawn of this new day
I watch from upon a rooftop
Observing below...trying to find
Crumbs that someone left behind.

A few wee crumbs or a small seed
Plus water for my drink
Just enough to meet my need
Refresh my mind that I may think.

I spot something on the ground
As I watch here all alone
Something still, that makes no sound
Though has a sparkle all its own.

A golden string is now in view
I fly down thinking what to do
This treasure could help build my nest
A little home, where I can rest.

I build my nest, then hunger more
So I leave to search for bread
My eyes are ready to explore
A place where I might be fed.

A crumb waits where I found the string
A great blessing bestowed to me
Before I eat, I happily sing
Thankful for this offering.

Near to me and well in sight
A bird bath, filled up to the brim
Sunlit water, my heart's delight
I land quietly on the rim.

If one truly seeks, one shall find
And in God's love abide
A sparrow's life can bring to mind
How God is faithful to provide.

We are Phenomenal

imageimage

"Phenomenal Women"
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
the swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
what they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
the need for my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

"Touched by an Angel"
We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of lonliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
We dare be brave
And suddenly we see
That love costs all we are
And will ever be.
Yet it is only love
Which sets us free.

"I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings"
A free bird leaps on the back
Of the wind and floats downstream
Till the current ends and dips his wing
In the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.

But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill for
The caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
And the trade winds soft through
The sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright
Lawn and he names the sky his own.

But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with
A fearful trill of things unknown
But longed for still and his
Tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom.

"Spread Your Wings and Arise"
There are times in our lives
We feel much like
A flower struggling to bloom
We go through those times
Of change and growth
Like a caterpillar in a cocoon

Nobody can see
The Lord's hidden work
Until the day we break through
Then we can begin
To spread out our wings
And arise as butterflies do

God has a much higher
Calling for us
And wants us to rise up in Him
We can make such a difference
If we'd only realize
The potential we have within

So allow the Lord
To work in your life
To make you all you can be
So you will one day
Be able to soar
And know what it means to be 'FREE'

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Hello My Luvs,
Finally have computer access, and sorry I haven't been around much, but family matters have now taken precedence over my life right at the moment which doesn't afford me the time to interact with all you beautiful people. May have to dismantle, cuz don't know when I'll be back.
So, hope all is well with you and your world, and pray that life continues to treat you well.
Take care, and maybe we'll get an opportunity to reconnect later on. You have been a blessing and a treat to know! ;-)

Just a little note to my Special Friends...
Hello My Angels...
Just letting you all know that I will not be online for awhile. The computer is down [EGADS] and don't know when it will get fixed. Right now I'm utilizing the library computer [which is not my cup or tea]. This also applies to my other profiles; CheroSky and SkyeHawk. Guess I'll be soaring the skies for a spell before I'm able to land. So, enjoy the rest of your Summer and I will see you when I see you. Will be thinking of you all, and will keep you in my prayers. Take care!

Addendum:
Even though you don't hear from me, never entertain the thought that you're being ignored, or that your presence/spirit isn't important to me; Because you're all very important to my circle of life. It only means that I'm away working on my genealogy research, and once I get started, I tend to forget to check my messages. So, I'm apologizing now in case you dropped in and I missed your visit and there wasn't any response.
Peace, Love and Blessings

Friendships Are Like Flowers

Forever Spreading Their Beauty

Spread Your Wings and Fly

Butterfly, Fly

image

We are, as I like to think of us all, as the Creators garden. We are His flowers and He is here to nurture us. Have you ever actually sat and watched a field of flowers? They do dance! Watch them sometimes and imagine it if you can, that you are that field of flowers. There is beauty in the way they move with the sun shining down on them and the gentle breeze that makes them sway to the trilogy of birdsong. It's very graceful!

What I write is given in the hope that someone can find another path to walk. What happens most of the time is that we have stayed in a rut for so long that we don't feel secure enough to get out of it and approach another avenue. We're scared witless! We have had that security blanket for years and how dare someone try and take it away! It is after all what we have relied on, but it's time to throw it away and buy a new one. It's time to walk towards another path My Sisters! What I write also helps me continue to heal and grow, to Blossom, and give me other options to walk through LIFE! Giving me options, and I truly hope for you too, to consider instead of traveling down that bumpy road called "Pain." The growing doesn't stop for any of us, no matter how old we get. Which is a good thing! We have an opportunity to grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

As for setting off triggers, it can be anything, or everything, that pulls it. But what we have, and need to learn to do is ease our finger off slowly so as not to have it blow up in our face. It Ain't Easy! Trial and error, it's a part of life. It is how we grow, it's how we continue to learn. Someone once told me that life was a test and that we dang well better pay attention, because the exam is hellish! No truer words were ever spoken! Life is to continually learn. We either give up and throw the books away or kick ass! I'd much rather do the latter! You'll get there! Believe IT!

Self-Image is about Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem!

You want to exhibit a high self regard, which doesn't mean being conceited or stuck-up. It means respecting and liking oneself. A person's self-image is revealed in the way you dress and carry yourself. The more positive you portray your Self-Image, the more aware a person is of her personal appearance and the image that it creates in others.

Self-Image can be somewhat mecurial and is often self-perpetuating. Personal or professional successes can make you feel like you're on top of the world, which in turn will often result in more success. On the other hand, there's the opposite effect. You can have a bad relationship, and look at the world with a defeated attitude, and that result will more than likely portray a low self-image.

Ultimately, the better you feel about yourself, the better others will regard you as well.

You want someone to make you feel like a woman who is appreciated, spiritually supported, respected, and most importantly; Loved! You want to feel that the person in your life was destined to be there. Once you start to pay attention to what is important to be compatible with the partner you seek over the long-term, the background and values, along with the likes and dislikes, begin to resolve themselves. Look for someone who's looking for YOU! Compatibility is what you want, the other stuff is like icing on a Cake!

Another thing, broaden your horizons! Most of the time we limit ourselves to only one camp, per se; instead of looking in other areas. We don't notice who might be in the other camp. Be eclectic, versatile, and do broaden those Horizons. Love can be found in many places.
Sometimes even in your backyard!

"You are Enough"

Most of us have the feeling that we are here to accomplish something big in our lives, and if we haven't done something that fits the bill we may feel as if we are waiting. We may feel incomplete, or empty, as if our lives don't yet make sense to us, because they don't line up with our idea of major accomplishment. In some cases, this may be because we really are meant to do something that we haven't yet done. But in most cases, we can let ourselves off the hook with the realization that just being here, being ourselves, is enough.

As we live our lives in this world, we share our energy and our spirit with the people around us in numerous ways. Our influence touches their lives and, through them, touches the lives of many more people. When we strive to live our lives to the fullest and to become our true selves, we are doing something big on an inner level, and that is more than enough to make sense of our being here on this planet at this time. There is no need to hold ourselves to an old idea in the back of our minds that we need to make headlines or single-handedly save the world in order to validate our existence.

We can each look within our hearts to discover what is true for us, what gives our lives meaning, and what excites us. We can release ourselves from any pressure to perform that comes from outside of our inner sense of purpose. Staying in tune with our own values and living our lives in tune with our own vision is all we need in order to fulfill our time here. Our lives are a process of becoming so that we cannot help but cocreate; being who we are, responding to each moment as it comes, we can trust that this is enough.

This is a Thomas Kinkade painting. It's rumored to carry a miracle!
The water is supposed to be running, so, if it's not moving, then the
picture didn't come through entirely.
They say if you pass this on, you will receive a miracle.

A Woman's Worth

image

The One Flaw in Women

By the time the Lord made woman, He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
An angel appeared and said, 'Why are you spending so much time on this one?' And the Lord answered, 'Have you seen my spec sheet on her?'

She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable part, all replaceable and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart - and she will do everything with only two hands.

The angel was astounded at the requirements.
'Only two hands!? No way! And that's just on the standard model? That's too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finsh.'

'But I won't, 'the Lord protested. 'I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days.'

The angel moved closer and touched the woman. 'But you have made her so soft, Lord.'
'She is soft,' the Lord agreed, 'but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.'

'Will she be able to think?', asked the angel.
The Lord replied, 'Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate.'

The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek. 'Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.'

'That's not a leak,' the Lord corrected, 'that's a tear.' 'What's the tear for?' the angel asked.

The Lord said, 'The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her lonliness, her grief and her pride.'
The angel was impressed. 'You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing.'

And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take 'no' for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer wthen their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE TINY FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH!

TAMAR

"Have you ever had anything happen to you that changed you forever? Somehow, you were like a palm tree and you survived. Yet you knew you would never be the same. Perhaps you have spent every day since then bowed over. You could in no wise lift up yourself. You shout. You sing. You skip. But when no one is looking, when the crowd is gone and the lights are out, you are still that trembling, crying, bleeding mass of pain that is abused, bowed, bent backward, and crippled." The name Tamar means " Palm Tree." She stands in summer and spring. She even faces fall with leaves when other trees lose theirs. She still stands. When the cold blight of winter stands up in her face, she withstands the chilly winds and remains green throughout the winter. Tamar is a Survivor. Through hard times Creator has granted you the tenacity to endure stresses and strains. I think we women are much like the palm tree. Like Tamar, we are a survivor. And we should celebrate our survival. Instead of agonizing over our tragedies, we should celebrate our Victory and thank Creator that we made it."
"I charge you to step over your adversity and " WALK INTO THE NEWNESS! "

It is like stepping from a storm into the sunshine. Just step into it now."

This is not to ram religion down your throat, but to give you something to think about. I do not know if all who come here [WyldKattz site ~ for Women only] are religious, but we all [at least I think] believe in the Higher Power, no matter the name you use. We have Faith, so, let us draw on that to help us through our turmoil. He has not left our side, even when we think HE has. "He is calling for the broken, infirm women to come to Him. He will restore and deliver." The Spirit calls; and the burdened need only heed the call." I also put this here because there is love and compassion in my heart for you, and what may not help one of us, may inadvertently, help another. It does help me!

Found this in a book I have and that stays close by my side. It is an example of the word Faith and refers to Martha concerning Lazarus in the Bible.

"There are 3 tenses of faith:
1. The historical faith [Lazarus when he died]
2. The futuristic faith [Lazarus will live again]
3. The present faith [He has the power to raise him again]." John 11:21-27.

Even now, after all you have been through, Creator has the power to raise you up again! This is the present tense of faith. Walk into Your Newness even now."
These excerpts are from the book; "Woman, Thou Art Loosed !" [Healing the Wounds of the Past] by T.D. Jakes I find much comfort in its reading.

Most of the time I don't think we give ourselves much credit, but inside all of us there is a Tamar. After all, didn't we survive? Whatever has befallen us we still stood strong! We may have bent to the ground a few times, but we snapped back up ready to tackle the next storm and/or battle. And as long as
you can visulize yourself jumping out of that storm,

"You Will Make It!"

Life is only a test to see how much we have learned and if we have used that lesson to grow stronger. It's kind of like when we were in school. We knew we had to learn our English and History and although we may have hated it; it still had to be learned so we could go to the next step. I hated both subjects! The thing of it is, we have to start thinking of ourselves as Survivors and not just a victim. That sounds easy for me to write, but in actuality it is hard to attain, especially when your feelings have been hurt over and over again. We just have to keep on fighting until we win the war and the battle. We Will Make It! Have Faith! Keep your Spirit Strong!

image

So...What's the Lesson??

image

I've found that the majority of us women have been through traumatic experiences in our lifetime, and some of us are still suffering mightily from it. Unfortunately! Don't know if this will make sense, but keep an open mind. This pertains to us women, so sorry fellas. Here goes!
Can you remember what it was to like to give birth? You endured the most excruciating pain so that a beautiful new life could be born. Right? And after it was all over, you more or less forgot about that pain once you laid eyes on that tiny little face. Oh, the joy!
Well, think of your bad days as something you must endure until Your Re-birth! I realize it's not a great analogy, but what we go through is something like that until we can push the pain away. Until the desire to move forward becomes greater than the memories of our past pain, we will never hold the power to create new life again. Once that beautiful life was held in our arms, we forgot all about the pain. Right? Creator wants to give us the strength to overcome our past pain and for us to move forward into a new life. If we don't have balance between past pain and future desire, we will quit producing so to speak. The past hurts, there's no denying that, because it was real and genuine. It did happen, but we must figure how to get through it somehow. This is easier said than done, I know. Like some of us, I have been so low that I was willing to die to ease my pain. The feeling of worthlessness to others and especially to myself, being alone, etc. But I made it through. That was many years ago. It was rough going, but now there is a new step in my walk. My head is held high, and there is purpose in my life. Yes, there are days when that old demon comes back to entice me, but he can't have me. Each day is a stepping stone, each day is a new journey. Sometimes, we may slip back into the water, but we have to shake ourselves off and continue. We have to learn to stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Yeah, I know. That too, is easier said than done. But if we keep dwelling on what was, we will never be able to focus on What Can Be! The past is called the past, because it is behind us. We have a choice of visualizing what is ahead of us. Panic attacks are real, sure enough. It keeps us stuck in a groove, and eventually that groove is going to become a rut so deep, we won't be able to climb out of it. We must brave the waves so that we can reach the shore and stand firmly on the ground. Look for that shore, it is just over the horizon.

A Strong Woman vs. A Woman of Strength

image
"A Strong Woman Vs. A Woman of Strength"

A strong woman works out every day to keep
her body in shape ...
but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her
soul in shape...

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything ...
but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst
of her fear...

A strong woman won't let anyone get the
best of her ...but a woman of strength gives the best
of her to everyone...

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids
the same in the future...

A woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also
be Creator's blessings and capitalizes on them...

A strong woman walks sure footedly ...
but a woman of strength knows Creator will catch
her when she falls...

A strong woman wears the look of confidence
on her face ...
but a woman of strength wears grace...

A strong woman has faith that she is strong
enough for the journey ...
but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the
journey that she will become strong...

"I Wish You Enough"

"I wish you enough sun to keep your
attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun
more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your
spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest
joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy
your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all
that you possess.
I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the
final "Goodbye."
My friends and loved ones,
I wish you ENOUGH!!!

I ask the Creator to Bless you each time
I remember you!

"My Wish for You"

I wish for you

Comfort on difficult days

Smiles when sadness intrudes

Rainbows to follow the clouds

Laughter to kiss your lips

Sunsets to warm your heart

Gentle hugs when spirits sag

Friendships to brighten your being

Beauty for your eyes to see

Confidence for when you doubt

Faith so that you can believe

Courage to know yourself

Patience to accept the truth

And love to complete your life

Well...just a little

Hmmm..let's see
I am a single mother of two daughters, one step-daughter and step-son, and one adopted daughter. From these children, I have been blessed with 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. That one still gets me; a great grandchild! Whew! As they say; continuing the Circle of Life.
The big kids range from ages 37 to 25, grandchildren's ages start at 20 down to 3, and the great grand is 1. Oh, and I seem to have accumulated children from all walks of life who call me mom; their ages vary too. Won't tell you how many; but it's enough to have a basketball team, and a football team [including the reserves]! Does 'Old Mother Hubbard' ring any bells? But don't go there as far as calling me 'old,' still rockin' it and having fun! Recently lost my very dearest best friend; my Mother, and still miss her sweet spirit, the laughs and daily talks. But she is no longer suffering and is in the hands of the Great Spirit, and amongst her family. We were blessed with her presence for many years, and for that I am very thankful to the Creator for allowing us to receive her loving embrace and give her love for many years.

My enjoyment in life, and what keeps me going is my family; watching their smiles, hearing their laughter, watching them grow, talking to a few very close friends, riding motorcycles and horses, poetry, art, music, reading and travelling to Pow Wows. My musical tastes run from Native American, R&B, jazz, along with a little bit of country and a smathering of alternative music. And definitely like 'Old School.' Favorite instruments: saxophone, guitar and flute; each that can infuse itself into your heartbeat and just fill your soul. It's erotic. Could go on about that, but might get in trouble, but love it when the music talks to you! image
Like sitting listening to the music of the water as it cascades over the rocks while meditating, and feeling the sun on my face. Dislike dresses with a passion, which means you will find me in blue jeans, t-shirts, long skirts with big blouses, boots and/or walking barefoot. Guess the hippie days never left me. There have been occasions when a dress is called for, but thankfully not too often!

Over the years, the pets in my life have included dogs, cats, fish, an iguana and exotic birds. But the main animal I wish to own is a horse, and if fortunate, a hawk. Those are my favorites, but living in the city kind of limits those particular possessions. Hope to rectify that little oversight some day soon, and head for the mountains!

If you happen to notice a particular theme placed on this page, it's because throughout my lifetime, it seems my spirit attracts those who are in trouble, need support, and/or just need a shoulder to cry on. With that being said, I find myself being somewhat of a Warrior and

for those who suffer from abuse; mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. I cannot tolerate anyone who makes others suffer because of their inability to love, and feels the need to control someone. The feelings are very real, and run deep! So, I try my best to get the message out there, and offer means of finding help. It's out there for those who are in much need of these services. All that's required of you is to reach out. It's a big difference from our grandmothers and some of our mothers era. Thankfully! But sadly, abuse is still out there running rampant, and it needs to be stopped in its tracks! Off my soapbox for now..

Oh, and that pic of me on the bike and the get-up? Hairdresser talked me into participating in her hairstyle show one year. Wasn't bad, but was the oldest one in her crew! Not bad for a grandma though, huh? Even had a little Patti LaBelle hairdo goin' on. image
I also have 3 profiles associated with Yuku: CheroSky, Ayeli iyv ugigv, and SkyeHawk. So, don't get confused if you happen to see any of the names on your profiles. It's just me. lol
